Fame and popularity drive consumption of content, physical goods, page views and other forms of consumerism. For decades, marketers of physical goods have signed celebrity endorsements based on this. More recently, social networks and other startups have courted celebrities based on this.

Beats by Dre is one example of this relationship between culture and technology. Another is the success of the recent Kardashian mobile app. Now that investors, founders, and celebrities better understand the success that can be created together, what does this mean for the future of consumer-focused startups? What should you do to optimize the success of your venture?

We will examine recent examples of successful collaborations between tech entrepreneurs, investors and celebrities. We will propose ways to create effective partnerships as well as review examples of pitfalls to avoid. This session will be useful to startups, investors as well as celebrities that are interested in startups.
