Beyond Wearables: Future Fabrics and Fashion Design

Sunday, March 15
9:30AM - 10:30AM

JW Marriott
Room 206
110 E 2nd St

Much for the current recent fashion technology discussion involves the idea of wearables: things like wristwatches and Google glass.

But a lot of innovation is going on both in terms of fabric technology as well as approaches that will change the way we dress ourselves and how designers make everything from everyday fashion to haute couture.

From futuristic Swiss fabrics that don't require cleaning, to fabrics that give sensory or "haptic" feedback, to rapid prototyping and 3-D printing being applied to fashion design, we'll investigate with a diverse panel -- ranging from professors to practitioners to learn more about this fascinating new space.
