Don't panic, but Javascript is taking over. There is a new push in the tech world for Javascript to be everywhere. From hybrid applications to server side development, it’s now more important than ever for front-end developers to take advantage of the tools and opportunities before them.
This talk will cover the basics of using Node.js as a front-end developer and how to use it everywhere. Whether it’s in your day-to-day workflow for web/mobile applications or building complex APIs, that silly little language that let you alert spam your friends is now leading the way for the future.
The first half hour will consist of a presentation to covering the basics of Node.js
After that we will have a short break and ~2 hours to run through several small projects covering a variety of topics.
One thing to note, if you are looking to build a web server, learn Express, or building APIs, then this is not the talk for you. Although we will touch on these areas, this talk is aimed at exploring the other areas that Node.js can be valuable.
