On the strength of their 2012 SXSW Showcase, Slowtrain hooked up with Austin producer extraordinaire Danny Reisch to produce the new record “Ghosts Inside This Hotel”. Danny is well known for his work with Okkervil River and The Bright Light Social Hour (for which he was honored as Producer Of The Year at the 2011 Austin Music Awards).

Danny and Slowtrain have been hard at work over the last year carefully crafting a new LP which will see the band exploring new ways to express their music. The band combines piano, organ, and a carefully crafted mix of guitars for a sound that falls somewhere between American roots and indie pop.

The band has accomplished a lot over the last few years. Big stages? Check. National placements? Check. Radio play? Plenty in Texas anyway. Late night TV? Not quite there yet.

Now with their new opus complete, 2014 will be devoted to finding the right home for Slowtrain’s music while continuing to utilize existing connections to ensure that the band continues to grow it’s devoted fan base.
