Statik Selektah is an established producer, DJ & radio personality from Lawrence, MA, now residing in Brooklyn, NY.

Statik has released three producer albums from 2007 - 2010: 100 Proof (2010), Stick 2 the Script (2008), & Spell My Name Right (2007). He has also released collaborative albums with Termanology (2010) & Saigon (2009). Statik Selektah has done digital-only EPs as part of his 24 Hour Album Recording Series with Freddie Gibbs (2011) & Freeway (2011).

In 2013, Statik Selektah released his critically-acclaimed album 'Extended Play.' Statik exclaims that the album “takes it back to the foundation. I wanted to pay homage to hip hop.” It features an unprecedented star-studded cast of emcees including Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Black Thought, Mac Miller, Mike Posner, Freddie Gibbs, Smif N Wessun, Sean Price, Raekwon, Troy Ave, and Hit-boy among many others. Each artist adds a distinct element to the overall sound of the album, complementing Statik’s soulful, organic production. The eclectic mix of accomplished veterans and hungry newcomers result in an aesthetic that is undeniably current.

Extended Play is a follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed ‘Population Control.’ In the past several years, Statik has also produced collaborative projects with Action Bronson, Jared Evan, and Saigon. Some wonder where he finds the time. He admits, “Extended Play isn’t just the name of the album. It’s an ‘Extended Play’ on life. I was dealing with a lot of stress and some health issues. I had to readjust my priorities while making this.”

An entrepreneur in the true sense of the word, his friends call him a workaholic; they tell him he needs to take a step back. That hasn’t stopped him to this point. He has taken his musical acumen and background as a DJ to launch himself as a creative force in music’s landscape. Extended Play is an ode to Statik’s work ethic and undying passion for hip-hop and its evolution.
