The Zoltars

7976

Austin's garage outsiders, The Zoltars, formed in 2010 as a songwriting outlet for Jared Leibowich (AKA Jared Zoltar). Their first album, Should I Try Once More (Burger Records/ Sundae Records, 2012), was a triumph of minimalist, weird pop tunes. The album told the story of a broken person falling in love all over again, a story which perfectly exemplifies what distinguishes The Zoltars from the ocean of more party-minded garage contemporaries.

They recently released their sophomore album, Walking Through the Dark (CQ Records, 2013). The LP shows the band in a more ambitious studio mode with dense, multi-dimensional sounds, pianos, cellos, and shoegaze guitars. Austin Town Hall called it “a record that emphasizes the perfect meld between pop sensibility and garage pop ethos”.

2014 will see The Zoltars touring the U.S. in the Spring and Summer and recording another album to be released in the Fall.
