Getaround has successfully worked with government to pass car sharing legislation in California, Oregon & Washington State, and helped secure a $1.725 million federal grant from the Obama Administration for a pilot project to study the positive impacts of peer-to-peer car sharing. Padden manages Getaround's ongoing relationships & projects with the White House, Congress, state leaders, and local mayors. Getaround saw 12x growth in 2013 and recently announced a new insurance partnership with Assurant (NYSE: AIZ) that will enable nationwide expansion.
Padden has a Bachelors in International Relations & Chinese from Tufts University and a Masters in Modern Chinese Studies from Oxford University, where he studied US-Chinese technology policy. He is a Montanan.
