Everyone’s got a story to tell or an idea to sell. But your audience has to understand and embrace it if you truly want to motivate them to act. Bring your pitch to the two and a half hour long Pimp Your Pitch workshop and we’ll help you rework it to better connect with your audience – whether you want to secure funding from a VC, sell your story to a filmmaker, convince a prospect to buy your product, or land a gig as a speaker at the next SXSW conference.
This VisualStorytelling workshop will teach you how to create audience empathy, address resistance, heighten emotional appeal, and strengthen your story structure to persuade your audience.

Back in elementary school, Mike felt like the hero of Show and Tell. As a facilitator at Duarte, Mike teaches others how to be the hero.
In addition to facilitating, Mike has taught Public Speaking for the past eight years and is a mentor for the Portland Incubator Experiment. He has been a featured presenter at Nike, The Art Institute of Portland and the Northwest Communication Association. Both his B.A. and M.S. are in Communications.
Nancy Duarte is CEO of Duarte, Inc. and the author of Resonate, Slide:ology, and the HBR Guide to Persuasive Presentations. She has 20 years of experience working with global companies and thought leaders, and she has influenced how the world perceives some of the most important brands and entities, including Apple, Cisco, Facebook, GE, Google, HP, TED, Twitter, and the World Bank. Nancy has a passion for teaching others about the power of persuasive presentations that drive change in the world.
Paul Brown is the VP of Strategic Accounts at Duarte Inc.. He is an expert in all of the functional areas of the organization and has extensive knowledge of Duarte's storytelling philosophy and strategy. For eight years he has helped clients uncover and amplify their audience connections, expand their storytelling capabilities and ultimately persuade their audiences to take action.
He works with client executives and their subordinates to develop, package and implement mutually satisfying strategic communication strategies. He has extensive experience working with a diverse array of authors, start-ups, thought leaders, issue-based organization, governments and corporate management teams to influence and drive creative solutions.
His clients include: Scripps Networks, Cisco, Google, Intel, Coca-Cola, Visa, PWC, Levi Strauss, Nike, Salesforce, The World Bank, The United Nations and TED.

Ryan Orcutt joined Duarte in 2004 as a graduate of Chico State’s School of Communication Design and now contributes as Associate Creative Director. His 10-year tenure has allowed him to help some of the world's most influential speakers craft, visualize and deliver some of today's most compelling and persuasive stories. A natural visual thinker, storyteller, and designer, Ryan’s skill lies in his ability to combine all three. He's a true believer in the power of presentations and a well-studied student of the Duarte principles. If you dropped in at Duarte headquarters, you'd most likely find him leading a client workshop, drawing a storyboard or bar tending the Friday afternoon happy hour.
