Paul Shoebridge and Michael Simons (The Goggles), are the award-winning interactive directors of the acclaimed documentary, “Welcome to Pine Point,” a project which showed how digital stories could be made more immersive, emotional, & human. They will discuss Bookumenta, their storytelling format that further pushes linear narratives into layered, in-depth experiences. The conversation will focus on two projects. “Touch” is an exploration of the death of print, selected for the 2013 Sundance Institute New Frontier Story Lab, & published by Penguin U.K. 'Chasing the Sun', a transmedia tale about the issues facing the Arctic, was the winner of the 2013 Tribeca Film Institute New Media Fund, & published by Atavist Books. Swanna MacNair, co-founder of Electric Yarn will lead the conversation.

The Goggles are Paul Shoebridge and Michael Simons, award-winning creators who have spent their professional lives telling stories in compelling new ways. Their acclaimed interactive documentary, Welcome to Pine Point, received more than a dozen international awards and was featured at numerous festivals and competitions. They have produced magazines (Adbusters), books, tv spots, and major advocacy campaigns. Blackspot Sneaker was listed as one of the New York Times' "Best Ideas." They are co-authors of the book I Live Here and are currently working on two new long-form digital documentaries - Touch and Chasing the Sun.Their work has been awarded numerous international design awards, 3 Webby awards, and has been featured in visual exhibitions and in 100 publications on CNN, MTV and in documentaries for BBC and PBS. They have spoken internationally on the confluence of politics, art, design and storytelling.

Swanna MacNair is the co-founder of the new content studio, Electric Yarn. Electric Yarn partners with content creators to develop intellectual property into digital products and multi-platform franchises. Electric Yarn has recently formed a second studio - Bookumenta, in conjunction with The Googles Media Group, which will focus on their goal of making non-fiction digital stories more human.Swanna’s background includes work for Disney/ABC Television Group, ESPN, Funny or Die.com, Fletcher & Company, Paramount Pictures and New Line Cinema. At Fletcher & Company in New York City, Swanna was a Literary Agent and the Head of Film and TV Development and Packaging. Before joining Fletcher & Company in 2008, MacNair worked in the film industry for over a decade. She was most recently Vice President of Production and Development at Misher Films, based at Paramount Pictures where she was responsible for scouting, acquiring and developing literary properties for feature film and television adaptation. Prior to working for Misher, MacNair worked for film studio New Line Cinema for four years where as Creative Executive. Swanna hails from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and earned a degree in Journalism from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Swanna divides her time with New York and Los Angeles, CA.
