Susan Abramovitch

Susan Abramovitch is a partner at Gowlings’ Toronto office and practises exclusively in
entertainment law. Prior to joining Gowlings, Susan served as Head of the Entertainment
practice at a prominent law firm, and was a founding partner of one of Canada's premier
entertainment law boutiques. Recognized by Lexpert as a leading entertainment lawyer, Susan’s
practice covers all aspects of transactions and disputes in the music, film, television, live theatre,
multimedia, videogaming, branded entertainment and book publishing industries. She has drafted
and negotiated numerous entertainment-related agreements, both domestic and international, and
has advised clients on all aspects of intellectual property law related to their businesses.

Susan previously practised law at Debevoise & Plimpton in both its New York and Paris office.
Here she worked in the areas of telecommunications law, international mergers and acquisitions
and general international corporate transactions. She is called to the Bar in Ontario, New York
and Québec.

Prior to Debevoise, Susan worked in the Montreal office of a prominent Canadian law firm, and
at Davis, Polk & Wardwell and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York. Graduating
with both LL.B. and B.C.L. degrees, she was the gold medalist for her graduating year in both
the Civil Law and National Law Programs at McGill University's Faculty of Law in Montreal,
and served as a law clerk to the Honourable Mr. Justice Gérard V. La Forest of the Supreme
Court of Canada.

In the area of entertainment law, Susan has published in the U.K. Entertainment Law Review
(Sweet and Maxwell), the Canadian Journal of Law and Technology, the Canadian Business Law
Journal and Cahiers de droit. She has also co-authored the Music Licensing chapter in the
Advertising and Marketing Law in Canada textbook and has written on 360 music deals for The
Lawyers Weekly.

Susan is the Program Director for Osgoode Hall Law School’s Certificate in Entertainment Law,
was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law from 2002 – 2012 and
lectures at Osgoode Hall Law School, McGill University Faculty of Music and Faculty of Law,
Ryerson University’s Chang School of Continuing Education and the Intellectual Property
Institute of Canada (IPIC).

Susan was most recently quoted in the Canadian Bar Association's National Magazine and
named one of Toronto's 50 Most Influential People in 2012 by Toronto Life magazine.
Susan is fluent in both English and French.

Lynn Morrow

Lynn Morrow joined Adams and Reese in 2001 to assist in the development of the firm’s Entertainment and New Media Practice Group. Lynn is the Partner in Charge of the firm's Nashville Music Row office.

A former litigator in Southern California, Lynn moved to Nashville in 1992 to pursue a career in entertainment law. She represents businesses that promote music and other forms of entertainment as well as artists, authors, songwriters, music publishers and producers. Lynn is listed in Best Lawyers® for Intellectual Property Law, and is featured as a Best Lawyers® "Lawyer of the Year" for Entertainment Law in 2013. She is also listed in Chambers USA for Media and Entertainment, and in Mid-South Super Lawyers® for Entertainment and Sports Law.

Lynn was voted Nashville Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” for several years by peer review and is past Chair of the Entertainment and Sports Section of the Nashville Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association. She is also a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law section of the California Bar Association, a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Copyright Society of the South.

Lynn writes extensively on copyright and entertainment-related subjects, and her article, "The Recording Artist Agreement: Does it Empower or Enslave?" was published by the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment Law and Practice. Lynn is also in demand for numerous speaking engagements.

Her significant contributions include:

Serving as legal counsel for the Gospel Music Association and the Christian Music Trade Association.

Representing the Nashville Symphony as entertainment counsel for more than 10 years.

Representing a number of clients in Christian and country music.

Lynn received an LL.M. in International Business Law from the University of Exeter, England; a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law; and a B.A. degree from the University of California at Irvine. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee and California.

In her free time, Lynn is a huge tennis fan and player. She also enjoys live music and international travel.
