Hunting for Elephants: Creating Enterprise Value in Sports Media

#sxsw #GuberSXSW SXsports

Drawing on more than 40 years as a Hollywood executive and his current roles as co-owner of the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Peter Guber discusses why sports content “isn’t just programming, it’s part of the emotional transportation business."

As chairman of Mandalay Sports Media, which produced the upcoming Sony film “When the Game Stands Tall,” Guber says he and his partners strive to make sports content that makes "viewers feel like they’re participants, not just passengers, on a journey that is qualitatively different than what’s offered by a romantic comedy or a TV drama. This session is a part of the brand new SXsports programming at SXSW 2014.
