Dave Karger

Dave Karger, a 17-year media industry veteran, was named chief correspondent for Fandango in September 2012. In addition to serving as the company's national media spokesperson, Dave hosts original video programming on Fandango, including its first original video series, “The Frontrunners” at http://www.fandango.com/thefrontrunners, centered around awards season.
Prior to joining Fandango, Karger covered movies, music, and television for Entertainment Weekly from 1995 until 2012. He wrote more than 50 cover stories for the magazine, on subjects including George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Elton John, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood. He spearheaded Oscar coverage for the magazine and EW.com.
On television, Dave is frequently a guest correspondent for national entertainment and news shows including NBC's TODAY show and and Access Hollywood. He has also appeared on Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Piers Morgan Tonight, CNN and Anderson Cooper 360.
In 2011 and 2012, Dave served as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts + Sciences’ official Red Carpet Greeter on Oscar night, the third person to hold that post (following Army Archerd and Robert Osborne). In 2013 he was nominated for the Publicists Guild's Press Award honoring the year's outstanding entertainment journalists. He has served on the juries of the TriBeCa, Los Angeles, and Florida Film Festivals.

Dave graduated cum laude from Duke University and lives in Los Angeles and New York.
