Douglas Rushkoff is a world-renowned media theorist and the author of a dozen best-selling books on media, technology, and change, that have been translated to over 30 languages. They include Program or Be Programmed, Life Inc, and Cyberia. He originated concepts including "viral media" and "social currency," and correctly predicted phenomena from the rise of the net to the collapse of banking. He won the Marshall McLuhan Award for best media book, Coercion, and numerous awards for his Frontline documentaries The Merchants of Cool, The Persuaders, and Digital Nation. He has played keyboards with PsychicTV, appeared on the Colbert Report, and lectured around the world.
