The Innovation, Data & Health Care Ecosystem

Bryan Sivak, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Chief Technology Officer, has been working to disrupt government through the adoption of innovative practices and forging new relationships between public and private sectors. Presenters
Steven Randazzo works with the Health and Human Services Department's Chief Technology Officer to promote the formation and adoption of innovative processes and products in government. Steven' is the manager of three open data and innovation blogs and his primary duties focus on external communication of the initiatives and priorities undertaken by HHS and outlined in the Open Government Plan.
Prior to serving in his current role, Steven served as an advisor to the Administrator for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, an operating division of the United States Health and Human Services Department. At SAMHSA, Mr. Randazzo assisted in implementing SAMHSA’s Strategic Initiative on Health Reform, which focuses on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. In addition to his duties around health reform, Mr. Randazzo advises the Administrator on SAMHSA’s social media strategy.
Prior coming to SAMHSA, Steven was twice appointed by Governor Bill Richardson (D-NM) first as a fellow, then as the legislative liaison of the New Mexico Human Services Department. Mr. Randazzo graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science and Communication.
