Tech Innovation in Racing

Returning to Austin for its second year in 2013, Formula One racing represents the pinnacle of motorsport where every intricate detail contributes to the overall success of the team. It is the most expensive sport and the only annual global sports league.

Circuit of The Americas is home to F1 in America, but also other types of world class racing that features their own technology stories (MotoGP, American Lemans and the World Endurance Championship).

These race series combine to be the modern version of the space race. High-performance advances in automotive and motorcycle racing bring advances to their consumer facing industries as well as others.

It also influences commerce, which several cities/regions of the world competing to host these events and attempting to leverage them into economically profitable pillars of their local industry. England leads this effort around their F1 team headquarters and Austin has plans to do the same around the Circuit of The Americas.
