Collaborative Filmmaking using Mobile Technology
There are over 1 billion people now with HD video phones connected through social networks… Could this make for an explosion of collaborative filmmaking? This session will explore the latest mobile platforms for making collaborative films together. We’ll explore the technologies, game dynamics, social dynamics, challenges, and some of the best examples yet of people making collaborative videos together, including the debut of a collaborative movie entitled "Hiking Silver Star" with alternative takes, and even alternate endings to choose between.
I was pulled into the world of JumperCut by Philip Marshall and we hit the ground running. I have been assisting him in making things happen, and attempting to gain other's interest in this exciting new platform. I also bang on drums and teach kids how to do the same.
Recently, Ben has worked for Portlandia: Season 3 (TV), OPB (TV), and a feature film called C.O.G. in competition at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Ben is the creator of Out of Line Productions.
He produces high quality video for a wide variety of clients and is currently producing original content for JumperCut as well as directing the original comedy web series Casualties of Funk which will premiere later this year.
