Film production runs the gamut from pre to post. Learn from industry professionals who have experience in the wide range of experiences film production entails.

Mentor session signup is open to all Film, Gold and Platinum badge holders at a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants who signed up online must check-in 30 minutes before your mentor time slot to guarantee your spot. Limited on-site signup is also available for a small number of mentor sessions spots and will begin 30 minutes before the first time slot of each session.

David Fabelo Post Production The Bounceback/Good Night

David Fabelo is a filmmaker based in Austin, TX whose body of work and professional experience spans nearly a decade. His work as a narrative editor has screened at festivals across the globe, including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, SXSW and LAFF. Recent credits include Good Night, the anthology feature Fourplay (the "Tampa" segment screened at both Sundance '12 and was the only American short to play the Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2011), An Ordinary Family. and the award winning comedy The Overbrook Brothers. Additionally, he served as post-production supervisor on The Bounceback and is an assistant editing Fellow of the Sundance Documentary Edit and Story Lab 2011. He has also directed two award-winning short films: the comedies "Test Day" and "Do Over."

Dominic Buchanan Head of Film Stink

Selected as the only producer to appear on Screen Daily’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow 2012’. Dominic has forged an in depth career in the UK film industry. He has worked at The Weinstein Company (2008) in acquisitions and production at the London office, Universal Pictures International (2009) in the co-productions and acquisitions department and recently Qwerty Films (2010-2012), under revered UK film producer Michael Kuhn as head of development, amassing a quality slate to be produced into feature films. Gimme The Loot is his first feature film as a producer (which won the grand Jury Prize at SXSW, then had it's International debut at Cannes in Un Certain Regard). His most recent feature is in post and stars Ben Whishaw, and is now casting for a Film4.0 project. Dominic was appointed Head of Film at Stink in May 2012 and is committed to making films that audiences can enjoy and be challenged by.

Lea Prainsack Visual Effects Producer Phosphene

Lea Prainsack is an accomplished visual effects producer at New York-based Visual Effects house, Phosphene.
Lea oversees visual effects from creative development and budgeting through execution and delivery. As a visual effects producer, Lea's primary goal is to use visual effects to help further the director's vision while respecting the confines of the project's budget. Lea's film credits include TOWER HEIST and THE BOURNE LEGACY.
Some of her broadcast credits include Todd Hayne's EMMY nominated MILDRED PIERCE, Visual Effects Society winner BOARDWALK EMPIRE, David Simon’s TREME (HBO), BLUE BLOODS (CBS), and Stephen Frears' soon to be released MUHAMMAD ALI’S GREATEST FIGHT (HBO).
Prior to transitioning to visual effects, Lea spent several years as a post-production supervisor and editor. Her work in post-production includes the Bruce Springsteen documentary THE PROMISE: DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN, CATECHISM CATACLYSM, STINGRAY SAM, and SHINE A LIGHT.

Megan Gilbride Where Soldiers Come From

Megan is an Independent Spirit Award nominated producer of narrative and documentary films. Her credits include HABIBI, SUNSHINE, THE FICKLE, and Bryan Poyser’s LOVERS OF HATE, which premiered in the US Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival and was distributed by IFC. Collaborators since 2005, Megan produced Poyser’s SXSW World Premiere comedy, THE BOUNCEBACK and is developing his next film, SAN MIGUEL.

Megan co-produced Heather Courtney’s Emmy and Film Independent Spirit award-winning documentary, WHERE SOLDIERS COME FROM. The film screened at numerous festivals worldwide and aired on PBS in a special Veteran’s Day presentation of the acclaimed series POV.

Megan received a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from The College of William and Mary and an MFA in Film Production from the University of Texas.
