The UX Awards UX Meetup is an opportunity for User Experience professionals at SXSW Interactive to get together for an informal, relaxing meet -and- greet before ending their SXSW experience! Come meet like-minded UX practitioners, UX-oriented product leaders and UX-focused startups from around the world in an informal, relaxed setting at the elegant Driskill hotel. It's a UX meeting of the minds where all UX fanatics are welcome! At the UX Awards UX Meetup, you'll also have an opportunity to learn more about the 3rd Annual User Experience Awards, which are held annually in New York in May. The submission window for 2013 runs from March 15- April 15, 2013 - just days away- so you'll be able to learn about submission requirements, the judging process and evaluation criteria, current and past jurors and winners, and you'll be able to meet the UX Awards organizers to ask any questions you may have! Beverly May Founder & Host The User Experience Awards

Bev has over 17 years’ experience in technology and the Internet and core expertise in user experience, product strategy and development. She is the founder of OTV: Oxford Technology Ventures, a user experience and digital product strategy consultancy, as well as the founder, organizer and host of the international User Experience Awards. Beverly is also the current President of NYC-CHI, New York City’s largest and oldest UX and usability organization.

Beverly began her career at age 20 by founding her own music entertainment company and independent music magazine in Toronto, Canada. She also began working in the web as a designer-developer and writer. Since then, Beverly has helped conceive, upgrade or launch well over 100 digital products and services at internet incubators, digital agencies, startups, software companies, publishing companies and even the the Department of Peacekeeping Operations at the United Nations, before starting OTV five years ago.

Beverly has an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford, a technology Master’s degree in systems design and new media from New York University, and a BA from University of Toronto. She is a triple US, Canadian and UK Citizen.
