Brain Gang Blue

3287

Straight out of Dallas, Texas, the experimental beat scientist known as Brandon "Brain Gang" Blue started his musical voyage in 2004. Trying to follow in the footsteps of his influences: Timbaland, Missy Elliot, & The Neptunes, Blue always felt like he could be the next innovative music producer.

Blue is well known locally for his extensive work with the artist, Dorrough Music, while attending Prairie View A&M University in '05-'06 (Get Like Me Vol. 1 &2) & the production he's done for the groundbreaking Dallas duo known as Sore Losers in '07-'10 (Free Loaders, Get A Life).

Those projects also set Blue up for nation success as well. He gained placements with Kendrick Lamar (P&P, P&P 1.5, & Faith), Mac Miller (Down The Rabbit Hole), Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Mod Sun & The Rej3ctz.

Blue has always traveled back and forth between Dallas & Los Angeles for inspiration and networking. While in LA, Blue discovered a love for the night life where he picked up on electronic music such as pop, techno, house, and dub step. He then started adding this sound to his, already unique hip hop style, and branded it as "Experimental Hip Hop" due to how different the sound was.

Looking to expose this new sound to a larger audience, Blue chose a new form of self-expression as he decided to become an artist himself and released a solo EP entitled "Numb." at the end of 2011. The EP was well received amongst the public & held a huge internet presence on Hip Hop blogs (2DopeBoyz, OnSmash, Sneak Hype, & More), proving that there is a lane for something as unique and different.

"Numb." is filled with an electro influence.. Dubstep wobbles over Hip Hop drums, heavy electric synths with Texas style "screw" hooks over them, & uptempo beats with thought provoking lyrics which work together on a project that has a high level of replay value.

Blue plans to continue this success into 2012. He promises that this is the year that he really bounces into the national spotlight as both a trendsetter in sound and as a provocative lyricist.
