From 150K hits in 4 weeks on his latest single, Body Rock, to opening for Lil John at Sundance, the largest film festival in United States, to DJing arena’s with over 5000 people, DeLon is no stranger to the stage. Starting off as a DJ at a young age, DeLon, found his passion in music and never stopped, learning the skills of music production and MCing along the way.
Billboard has two charting hits on DeLon already and with the debut of his latest album Something Out of Nothing, with features like TY$ (Toot-it and Boot-it, #2 on Billboard Heekseekers songs) and writers like Jacob Luttrell (Tonight, Enrique Iglesias, #1 Pop Songs) on his latest album, there is nothing but success in DeLon’s future.
DeLon started his career as a MC in 2005, with the release of his first album, The Connection. “The Connection was about connecting people and letting everyone enjoy all the different types of genres music had to offer in one cohesive album,” say’s DeLon about his debut, which garnered a #1 hit in some smaller international markets. In 2007, DeLon released his sophomore album, Unstoppable, which also found its way to the Billboard Charts, and four #1’s internationally in select regions.
This kind of traction allowed DeLon to start touring internationally from South Asian to the UK. DeLon has played for crowds of over 8000 people and has found a way to amalgamate a Hip-Hop performance with a DJ set! DeLon’s specialty has always been in the more underground hip-hop scene but in 2012 DeLon has focused on meshing Hip-Hop with Electronic and Dance, which has made his show very up-tempo and different from other MC’s and/or DJ’s.
As unique as they come and bound for worldwide success and fame DeLon keeps moving up, an official artist at South By Southwest (2nd largest music festival in the United States), he will be opening a show where Keanu Reeves will be the host and J-Cole will be the main act. There is no stopping the momentum of the phenom DeLon and his success if not already evident will reach epic proportions in 2012.
