Andy Suzuki & The Method
Andy Suzuki & The Method are a band on the rise. What started as a half-Japanese/half-Jewish teenager with a smooth hint of R&B in his voice singing along to John Mayer, has evolved into a musical force. The band's combination of electric violin, djembe, and piano, pushes the boundaries of acoustic pop - mixing elements of blues, jam-band-style soloing, and piano-rock - all the while reminding audiences that singer-songwriters can be so much more than just starry-eyed crooners.
The future is incredibly bright for this young band. They have been named the "Unsigned Artist Of The Month" by Keyboard Magazine; WNYC Public Radio declared that Andy Suzuki "is blessed with a velvet voice;" and Time Out New York praised the band's "deadly way with melody." In July 2010 and March 2011, the band headlined at NYC's Joe's Pub - a storied venue whose stage has recently been graced by Alicia Keys, Sara Bareilles and Jason Mraz. They sold out the 180 person venue in presale both times. In June of 2011, the band won the Manhattan section of WNYC Public Radio's Battle Of The Boroughs. With their Jan 31, 2012 release, "The Ghost Stories EP," already garnering rave reviews, the band is cementing their place as a band to watch closely, in NYC, and beyond.
