Brandon Patton aka BL4k Lotus
Brandon Patton aka BL4k Lotus is a songwriter from New Haven, CT who has also toured as a bassist for MC Frontalot, Jonathan Coulton, and Futureboy. His solo albums are known for their extreme ecclecticism, each one inhabiting a different world than the previous one. His beginnings were in indie rock in Boston, but these days you are more likely to find him at a nerdcore show slinging Magic the Gathering cards His most recent album, How I Allegedly Bit a Man in Gloucestershire, features songs about the sex lives of his parents, and moments of humiliation in foreign countries, what he calls "compulsive oversharing through song." His website features a new song every month.
Patton also performs with playwright Prince Gomolvilas in the underground theater duo Jukebox Stories. He won honorable mention for his music in Love Sucks! the Musical, a Shakespearean take on the punk rock of the 1970s, and was a finalist in the USA Songwriting Awards in 2009 and the Independent Music Awards in 2009 and 2004.
