Tobiasz Biliński is a co-founder of the band Kyst, which has up to now released two critically acclaimed albums – “Cotton Touch” and “Waterworks” and performed at such festivals as Primavera Sound, Fusion, Incubate, SXSW and many many more. He dedicated last year to creating his solo works as Coldair. His latest album “Far South” was released on 17 October 2011 by a Polish label Antena Krzyku.
Coldair creates affectional music, extraordinarily melancholic and direct in conveying emotions. Oneiric melodies and vocals place the music in a place suspended between reality and dream, sometimes peaceful and sometimes disturbed; on “Far South”, occasional intrusions of lively guitar, trumpets or marching drums shake you wide awake.
Coldair’s second album (as well as the first one) came into existence at home – some songs in Cracow, and some in Warsaw, where the artist lives today. All instrument tracks, except for brass (guest appearance of Kamil Szuszkiewicz), were recorded by Coldair himself, using simple but efficient recording methods. The album was produced in cooperation with Michał Kupicz (SWNY, ex Indigo Tree).
“Far South” has been released on both CD and vinyl. It’s also available for streaming on Bandcamp.
Coldair live band consists of 5 members.
