GARY LUCAS, "one of the best and most original guitarists in America" (Rolling Stone) returns to SXSW to play his live solo guitar score accompanying Jose Mojica Marins a/k/a COFFIN JOE's 1967 Brazilian cult horror shocker "THIS NIGHT I WILL POSSESS YOUR CORPSE". Since his days playing with Captain Beefheart and Jeff Buckley, Gary has released over 20 acclaimed solo albums in various genres, most recently "The Ordeal of Civility" (Knitting Factory) featuring his NYC based psychedelic supergroup GODS AND MONSTERS. He has performed in over 40 countries around the world to date and has been specializing in the last few years in breathing life into and re-animating classic horror, fantasy and science fiction films with his original live scores.
