SXSW Featured Speaker: Van Toffler
Van Toffler, President of Viacom's Music & Logo Group, is responsible for all the music
services, including MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic, CMT and CMT Pure Country, their affiliated screens and digital services; and Logo, the channel for the gay, lesbian, bi and transgender audience. Each of the brands under Toffler's leadership has established a unique connection with their audience and produced some of the biggest and most memorable events ("The MTV Video Music Awards," "VH1's Divas") and series ("Jersey Shore," "VH1's Pop Up Videos") on television. Toffler has also been instrumental in implementing strategy across platforms and new media. The Music Group's digital offerings reach more than 60 million monthly unique visitors in the U.S. Toffler has made pro-social programming, such as MTV's acclaimed "Choose Or Lose" campaign, an integral part of the networks.
