MODERATOR Jody Williams VP Writer Publisher Rels BMI

As Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Nashville, JODY WILLIAMS directs all writer/publisher relations activities in BMI’s Nashville office. Williams joined BMI in May of 2006, after leading Jody Williams Music, a joint publishing venture with Sony Tree, where he successfully placed 125 songs with major label country artists. Williams began his career at BMI in the late 1970’s, fresh out of college and en route to establishing himself as something of a Nashville wunderkind, holding creative positions for several major publishing firms.  In 1987, he returned to BMI and rose to the position of Assistant Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations. Later, Williams was lured into the publishing world again, this time as President of the Nashville division of MCA Music Publishing, which flourished under his leadership, emerging as one of Nashville’s most awarded publishers. A Nashville native, Jody Williams attended the University of Denver and majored in advertising. Today, he also serves on the boards of the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Country Music Foundation (CMF).

Jesse Malin Musician Jesse Malin & The St Marks Social

From his days fronting seminal hardcore trio Heart Attack and infamous glam punks D Generation to nine years on the road as a solo artist and with his band, The St. Marks Social, Malin has cultivated a devout fan base, sharing the stage with everyone from Ryan Adams to Counting Crows, The Hold Steady to Lucinda Williams. His songs are filled with messengers and misanthropes, hopefuls and hypocrites-and as always, his constant themes of redemption, nightlife, heartbreak, and survival. With the critically acclaimed 2009 release of LOVE IT TO LIFE, a monthly radio show (New York Nights) with John Varvatos on Sirius, and so much more up his sleeve, Jesse Malin is now back in the studio with the St. Marks Social ready to deliver a refreshing new album.
