MODERATOR Kyra Reed Founder Adler Integrated

With over 15 years of experience in marketing and branding, Kyra Reed has been an innovator in the booming field of social media marketing. She is the Founder of MarKyr Media, a consulting firm dedicated to producing innovative social branding strategies for clients as diverse as Toyota FS, Adidas Eyewear, and the City of West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Her work with clients has been featured in numerous publications including Mashable, MTV, and FastCompany.com.

In 2006, she was introduced to Nic Adler, owner of Sunset Strip icon, The Roxy Theatre. Together they built a branding and marketing strategy utilizing the concepts of community and transparency to save the legendary music venue from permanently shutting its doors. Their wildly successful efforts set an example for other businesses on the Strip who wound up adopting the same social philosophy to improve their bottom lines as well. Kyra’s work with Nic on The Roxy and the “Social Strip” has received countless awards for social innovation and they has been featured in the New York Times, NPR and TechCrunch.

Kyra is the author of the 2006 “blog bible,” Blog 101, The Beginners Guide to Blogging. She has lectured at UCLA and USC on Community Development and has spoken at a number of conferences on future social trends and changes in the business landscape including Digital Music Forum: West, Blog World, ASCAP Expo, Social Media Week, Gravity Summit, SXSW Interactive and SXSW Music. Her philosophy about Social Media have been featured in Beverly Macy’s new book “The Power of Real-Time Social Media Marketing” published by McGraw-Hill.

Nic Adler Owner The Roxy Theatre

After years as a band manager, promoter, and restauranteur, Nic took the helm at The Roxy in 1998. An entrepreneur and community builder, Nic was drawn to the cutting edge concepts he found in the burgeoning field of social media. In 2007 he launched a blog that went on to win The VH-1 Rock Honors Award for Best Music Venue Website. Always an early adaptor Nic began tweeting in 2008 and is now the #1 Music Venue on Twitter, Instagram, Flickr and Facebook in the world. As his social media program grew, Nic began to see the importance of being a part of the larger community of the Sunset Strip and the City of West Hollywood. Nic is co-producer of the Sunset Strip Music Festival, which draws over 30,000 music fans to the city every August and celebrates the Strip's legacy as it highlights some of music's newest talent. He is Vice President of the Sunset Strip Business Association and a regular at City Council meetings where he is leading efforts to bring the community together. Featured in the New York Times, Mashable, TechCrunch, Los Angeles Times, Fast Company, and cover stories in LABJ, Venues Today and Nightclub and Bar Magazine, Nic is reinventing his club, his street and eventually his city using the fundamental concepts of community building inherent in social media.

Nathan is currently the COO of Adler Integrated, a new full-service digital marketing agency in Los Angeles, which was founded by Nic Adler (owner of The Roxy). Prior to this, Nathan held the position of Marketing Director at two premier Los Angeles venues, Viper Room & The Mint, with a heavy concentration on social media marketing at both. He has also either consulted or led digital campaigns for Yamaha Entertainment Group, Sunset Strip Music Festival, San Diego Music Thing, Tipitina’s, Tipitina’s Foundation, The Shed BBQ & Blues Joints, and Gulf Coast Benefit Concerts. Nathan has been a panelist at Digital Media Forum West 2009, 140 Conference LA 2009, South By Southwest 2010, Social Media Week LA 2010, and San Diego Music Thing 2011.
