Svetlana Gous Consultant/Educator

For many years I held positions of a teacher and administrator in a laboratory nursery school located on the West Coast. The school maintained strong multi-cultural make-up due to our continuous outreach to the surrounding communities in order to include minority children. That experience led me to the Early Head Start program based in New York City, focusing on urban children's social and emotional resilience, the influence of parents on children's development, and the experience of being a parent.
In addition to being a resource for elementary school teachers and parents, I run a recess program with a goal of increasing students’ well-being and self-esteem through the arts and old-fashioned multicultural childhood games, positively responding to each child's interests and impacting each child’s academic success. I am on the advisory boards for a number of private preschools and companies as well as Khoza Educational Assistance Project based in South Africa. am a mother of three children.
