If you read the liner notes of any one of hundreds of classic albums recorded in the 60's, 70's and 80's, there is one name that appears again and again - Nicky Hopkins. Nicky's incredible piano licks graced 14 Rolling Stones records, classic albums and singles by the Beatles, (individually and collectively), the Who, the Kinks, Steve Miller, Joe Cocker and by dozens of other leading artist. He played at Woodstock with the Jefferson Airplane - well, you get the picture! British songwriter, singer, producer and musician Julian Dawson met Nicky Hopkins at SXSW in 1994, wrote and recorded with him that summer and mourned with the rest of the music world, when Nicky died an untimely death, aged only 50 in September of that year. Julian determined to tell the story of Nicky's life with all it's highs and lows. Now 12 years and 130 interviews later comes the American launch of his book 'And On Piano...Nicky Hopkins.'
