Placing music in movies and TV shows is exciting and can increase an artist's visibility. However, not all placement deals are equal. Learn what to expect from the people who bring music to screens.
BILLY GOTTLIEB is a Baltimore native who grew up with a passion for all things music. Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles in the early ‘90s Billy hooked up with a top film music supervisor and was involved with such classic films as PULP FICTION, CLUELESS and THE BASKETBALL DIARIES. By the mid 90’s Billy helped establish a film soundtrack department at Capitol Records. While there he worked on soundtracks to the films ROMEO & JULIET, CLUELESS, STEALING BEAUTY and the U.S. release of TRAINSPOTTING. Several years later Billy ventured out on his own starting Playback Music Supervision. Over the past decade Playback has supervised such diverse film and TV projects as BRING IT ON, THE COOLER, LIKE MIKE, THE TUXEDO, !HUFF, ALIAS, THE TICK, JOURNEYMAN and BONES to name a few. Billy is currently working on the TV series FRINGE and HUMAN TARGET. His most recent feature film was the sequel to MEAN GIRLS. He lives in Laurel Canyon with his dog Roxy.

NEIL TRAMA is a Music Supervisor at BluntForceTrama in Los Angeles and has worked with Bravo/NBC, Discovery International, NRDC, LCV, Deloitte, Compound Advertising, as well as major and Indie filmmakers. Before that, Trama has served as an A&R Scout at Geffen Records and A&R Representative at Mammoth Records and Maverick Records.
NIKI SHERROD is VP of music for Warner Bros. Pictures, where she has worked for almost 5 years. She oversees music for projects within WB features, WB animation, and Warner Premiere dvd division. She is currently working on films such as ARTHUR, CRAZY STUPID LOVE, GREEN LANTERN, PROJECT X among others. Before joining the Warner Bros. Pictures music division, Niki worked at Warner Music Group in the film & tv division for 6 years and prior to that she was at CAA in their motion picture talent department.
ROB SEIDENBERG runs El Centro Group, an Austin-based music placement and production company. The former president of Mammoth Records and VP of A&R and Soundtracks at Rykodisc, he recently music supervised The Real Dirt on Farmer John and is currently in the studio producing several artists.
