Demo Listening Sessions offer a unique opportunity for selected musicians to get direct feedback from music professionals, those who listen to demos as part of their job.
DANNY ZOOK is CEO and founder of Alien Music Services. Danny has been in music publishing for 18 years, starting as a teenager with Nashville producer Chuck Howard (Leeann Rimes) and later working for independent publishing legend Bill Lowery. After leaving Lowery he toured the US for four years with '90s underground rock group The Drugs. He went on to run Dallas Austin's publishing company for eight years. Presently, Zook is the General Manager for Cee-Lo Green's Radiculture Records and God Given Music Publishing, along with running his own company Alien Music Services, which clears samples for about 40 releases a year and handles publishing administration for writers and producers from every genre of music." Danny has an incredible brain for this business," says Cee-Lo.
Record Producer Gelboni is a voting member of NARAS, the Grammy organization. He worked at EMI Music Publishing in the Business Affairs and A&R departments, then at SBK records in the A&R department, leaving to be an n independent producer. His mentors include Steve Addabbo, Tony Maserati, and Grammy-winning producer/engineer/mixer Phil Nicolo with whom he formed a strategic alliance in 2008.
Over the last ten years, Gelboni has produced albums across the US, varying stylistically from complex modern rock to singer-songwriter (AAA). He has honed his skills as an arranger, focusing on the pre-production phase as critically important to a project's success. His productions range from demos to full-blown international releases. He mixed Dash Rip Rock's greatest hits album entitled "Gold Record" for the Ichiban label. He has also produced Shane Cooley, Gatlin, Ash Wednesday, Paul Jones, Seth Paul, Three Miles Out, Playing for Audrey, Margin of Error, Squash, Amy Carr, Real, Sundowner Syndrome, and many other bands. His work with Gatlin was played on Infinity Broadcasting station WXTM (Cleveland); Ash Wednesday on Clear Channel stations WKQQ (Lexington, Kentucky) and WEBN (Cincinnati) -- quite an achievement for unsigned bands.
Gelboni has been a panelist and moderator at dozens of music conferences including South by Southwest (SXSW), Access to Amsterdam (A2A) in the Netherlands, NEMO in Boston, North by Northeast (NXNE) in Toronto, 2NMC in Nashville, MEIS in Lexington, KY, the Florida Musician's Workshop in Ft. Lauderdale, MPMF in Cincinnati and MMC in Harrisburg. He is also a final-round judge for the USA Songwriting Competition.
VLAD BAR is Director of A&R at Capitol Records. Among the artists he currently works with are The Decemberists, Sean Lennon and Dave Gahan. He is based in New York.
