This presentation will focus on streaming music for the masses - from big name acts like Miley Cyrus to emerging artist like Never Shout Never, MTV utilizes all of its creative tools, partnerships and music knowledge to provide accessible, awesome music to its hyper-connected fans, live and streamed as they demand. This presentation will showcase creative ways MTV makes concerts more engaging online – from shooting video from the audience perspective - to social viewing tools like the Gigya Widget that create an engaging community concert-viewing experience, and a partnership with Webster Hall that gives emerging artists a platform to reach crowds across the America with live streaming video on MTV.com. This session will offer best practices and tips on tools and techniques to engage fans via concert going 2.0.
Fenway Recordings’ Mark Kates is a music manager whose name is historically synonymous with alternative music. He has worked as A&R person for Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Hole, White Zombie, Elastica, Dispatch, XTC, Jawbreaker and countless others. Besides his 10+ years at Geffen/DGC Records, he also ran Beastie Boys’ Grand Royal Records and worked at Big Time and Ace of Hearts. Now a management company, Fenway’s current client roster includes MGMT, Saves The Day, Francis and the Lights, The Cribs, Mission of Burma, Doves, The Static Jacks, Anthony Rossomondo, Bodega Girls and Faces on Film. In addition to management, as DJ Carbo, Kates curates the Fenway Recordings Sessions, a concert series running in Boston clubs since 2004.
JEREMY HOLLEY serves as Vice President of Consumer & Interactive Marketing for Warner Music Nashville. He oversees all aspects of online marketing, social media and digital music strategies, as well as creative services for the entire artist roster. Holley has been recognized by Billboard Magazine as one of the “Top 30 Under 30” executives in the music and entertainment industry.
BRAD BARRISH is an enthusiastic and slightly nerdy digital media executive who currently heads up sales for Topspin Media on the West Coast. He works with major and indie labels, managers and artists on creating successful direct-to-consumer businesses.
