With many tours canceled/postponed in 2010 due to immigration issues, we need to address what's going wrong and why. Immigration issues must be dealt with early in tour planning, but only by examining what the issues are and how they have changed, can the savvy manager, booking agent, promoter, record company or independent artist avoid the pitfalls. The combination of technological advances and prevention of terrorism initiatives make this area of touring more complex than ever. This panel will illuminate the situation for those who have had problems, and to those considering embarking on international touring, by examining time scales, costs and potential problems, along with the long term implications of incorrect advice.
KATIE RAY joined The Traffic Control Group team in 1998, following her graduation from Cambridge University. She has advised and undertaken research for multiple industry and government bodies, regarding visa/work permit issues in international touring, and is engaged in ongoing work to support these organizations.
TONY MOORE began his career in the music industry playing keyboards as an original member of Iron Maiden. In 1986 he joined Cutting Crew as keyboard player and together they had massive world wide success with "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight", which was number 1 in 17 different countries.
