Fashion Blogging: Capturing and Keeping Readers Who Buy

There’s no mistaking that new media has changed the landscape of marketing, commerce, and fashion. It seems that everyone these days has a blog, and the fashion blogger subset has become an industry force to be reckoned with: they sit on the front row of Fashion Week, they appear in national publications, they guest design for major brands, and companies hire them to wear their clothes. Trends are now influenced from the bottom up, with more fashion bloggers dictating what people buy rather than what's seen on the runway. Let's discuss what makes a fashion blogger a taste maker and why brands are sitting up and taking notice.

Indiana Adams Wielder of The Fashion Saber Adored Austin

Indiana adores Austin and it shows. As the recipient of several local blogging awards and with shout-outs by Tommy Hilfiger, Lucky Magazine, and Glamour, Adored Austin boasts a large loyal monthly readership. Indiana is passionate about cultivating relationships offline by ways of social media. As a lover of affordable fashion, quirky animal jewelry, and sewing, Indiana started Adored Austin as a way to connect Austin readers with local fashion events and non-local readers with shopping resources all while providing funny commentary about herself and all things style. She helmed Austin's first New Media fashion brunch and boutique crawl last year and has since let that event evolve into a The Texas Style Council Conference, a weekend conference where style bloggers, shop owners, and brand representatives from all over the country can connect with top tier bloggers and brands to learn how to best implement social media trends on their own websites.
