Post Recession Recruitment - What Now?

A discussion from experts in online recruitment, online branding, and social networking about how looking for a job has changed. The panel will consist of agency recruiters, company recruiters, advisers and job seekers to give attendees an in-depth understanding of what each party in the equation is doing differently today and how it might effect them. The panel will describe how things have changed from years past: how new graduates and those entering the work force have much different expectations that those more experienced; how employers are now looking more for fit rather than pure skill set; how the role of recruiters has changed and how job seekers themselves need to take a much more active role in managing their job search. We’ll discuss innovative solutions to particular issues within the technology and interactive space but focus on providing detail on how recruitment has changed and suggest some tools, technologies and solutions that exist for job seekers, employers and recruiters.

I am a technology entrepreneur with over 20 years experience building and launching leading edge consumer and business products. At Jobspeaker, I am looking to solve one of the biggest challenges in the US today: getting people back to work. Jobspeaker helps job seekers manage all of their job search related information in one place to help them stay organized and focused on finding a job. Previously, I held the VP of Products position at a consumer finance startup and have worked extensively in the US and Europe on consumer finance and large technology projects. Outside of work hours, I enjoy the odd game of golf, skiing, motorcycling and spending time with family and friends.

Kathie Green Marketing Manager, Americas Right Management

Kathie Green is Marketing Manager, Americas, for Right Management, a global workforce consulting firm founded in 1980, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Manpower. In addition to delivering workforce consulting solutions such as Talent Assessment and Leader Development, Right Management is the world’s largest provider of Outplacement. Kathie currently manages marketing for multiple regions, including 15 U.S. states, Western Canada, and Latin America. Prior to Marketing, Kathie coached job seekers in Right Management’s Outplacement program in her role as a Job Resource Consultant. She proactively connected hundreds of candidates to opportunities in the marketplace through: research, job search technology, hiring & networking events, and access to a broad network of hiring companies and recruiters. Kathie came to Right Management from Paramount Pictures, with experience in both In-Theatre Marketing and Consumer Products. Kathie graduated Cum Laude from Occidental College with a B.A. in Anthropology with Honors, and is now a member of the Occidental College Board of Governors.
