What micro and macro trends are starting to emerge pointing to a fundamentally different way people are working. We will talk about where people are choosing to work (Coworking, Socially conscience work environments, home, traditional office), tools enabling this (Apps, Google docs, social networking etc.) how this is changing management styles ( Bestbuy R.O.W.E. (Results Oriented Work Environments, Google 20% Time, Atlassian “Fedex Days” ) and what the long term implications (glut of office space, disconnected workforce) of all this could be.

Liz Elam successfully launched Link Coworking in Austin in September 2010. It is one of the few spaces in the U.S. designed specifically for coworking. The idea for a coworking space came while Liz was running a highly successful multi-million dollar business for 9 years from her home office in Atlanta, GA. Prior to opening Link, Liz studied the changing landscape of work environments for two years, and continues to educate herself on emerging trends. Link Coworking is partnered with Turnstone furniture, not only to outfit the space, but also from a visionary office design perspective. She is currently negotiating two more unique partnerships that will benefit her members and continue to differentiate Link in the sea of coworking spaces throughout Austin. She can be found at Link daily, networking and thinking about how to further develop her coworking community.
