A surge of vegan bloggers has been using the internet to make change in the way people think about animals through new forms of activism. VeganMoFo (the vegan month of food) and worldwide Vegan Bakesales to raise money for causes and promote veganism are just some of the ways that we are breaking out of the stereotypes of the past and creating a revolution. Laura Beck is a founding editor of Vegansaurus.com, the Editor-at-Large for VegNews Magazine, and the community manager of VegWeb.com. She can be found contributing colorful commentary and real talk to magazines, websites, and blogs. Laura is also the Vice President of Rocket Dog Rescue, a San Francisco-based shelter dog rescue and a co-organizer of the SF Vegan Bakesales, which have raised over $20,000 for various charities since 2009. She resides in Oakland with her cartoonist boyfriend and their pit bull, Hazel Hazelton Butterscotch Beck.

Stephanie Bogdanich,a graduate of the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA currently works as a Media Technology Specialist in Austin, TX. In 2007 she started a personal blog "Lazy Smurf's Guide to Life". She now also works on promoting vegan options at local restaurants, raising money for farm sanctuaries and other non profit organizations, and teaching people about food.
