Rodman Flender grew up in New York City and studied documentary filmmaking at Harvard University with Ross McElwee. Flender cut his filmmaking teeth with independent movie king Roger Corman. After producing 23 features as his head of production, Corman gave Flender his first directing gig, the low-budget thriller "The Unborn."
