Synopsis

In the 1928 silent classic The Cameraman, Buster Keaton plays a bumbling street photographer who tries his hand as a newsreel cameraman to impress a girl. Mishaps ensue, but our stone-faced hero and his monkey sidekick take it all in stride.

Austin jazz/rock band Bee vs. Moth performs their original score live with the film. Bee vs. Moth’s genre-bending brew, described as a blend of Ornette Coleman and Television, has recently been featured on NPR’s “All Songs Considered” and PBS’ “Roadtrip Nation.”

Director Bio

Edward Sedgwick (1892 – 1953) was born into a show business family in Galveston, TX. He became a comic actor in films in 1915, and began directing serials in 1921. Sedgwick joined MGM in the late 1920s, and directed all of Buster Keaton’s MGM-era films.
