MODERATOR Guy Kawasaki Co-founder Alltop

Guy Kawasaki is the co-founder of Alltop.com, an “online magazine rack” of popular topics on the web, and a founding partner at Garage Technology Ventures. Previously, he was the chief evangelist of Apple. Kawasaki is the author of ten books including Enchantment, Reality Check, The Art of the Start, Rules for Revolutionaries, How to Drive Your Competition Crazy, Selling the Dream, and The Macintosh Way. Kawasaki has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College.

Steve Heiner Nikon Inc

Steve started as many photographers do, working on his Jr. High Newspaper and High School Yearbook staff. His interest in photography and photojournalism later developed while attending Brigham Young University where he became a staff photographer at The Daily Universe, the University newspaper. While attending B.Y.U. he was awarded a staff photographer internship at the Price Sun-Advocate in Price Utah. This gave him the opportunity to cover every aspect of small town life for an award winning twice-weekly paper. He later went to work for the Provo Daily Herald newspaper were he covered breaking news, sports and features all along the Wasatch Front in his home state of Utah. Steve also stayed busy working as a freelance photographer for many local businesses and regional. He was also often hired as a personal photographer for the Osmond Family. Steve joined Nikon in 1985 as a Technical Representative in Dallas, Texas before moving on to Sunnyvale, California and later back to Salt Lake City, Utah. During his time in the field, he provided technical assistance and training to many pro photographers at events including the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Pan American Games, Shuttle launches, and four Olympic Games. He has trained government and military specialists all around the country and even at sea in the use of Nikon products. Steve also taught the Nikon School of Photography as a primary instructor for 2 years. He joined the Nikon management team in their New York offices in 1999 and oversaw the implementation of sales, training and third party programs to better educate dealers, sales people, and ultimately customers about Nikon products. Steve holds the position of Senior Technical Manager at Nikon Inc. in Melville New York where he acts as technical liaison to the Nikon factory in Japan and is also a spokesperson for Nikon to the media.

Blake Whitman VP Creative Development Vimeo

Blake Whitman is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and the VP of Creative Development at Vimeo. As chief evangelist for Vimeo and manager of Vimeo's Content and Community team, Blake works on building and scaling one of the web's strongest and most engaged online video communities. As the editorial voice behind Vimeo's featured videos, Blake is continually exposed to the world's leading creative content posted by filmmakers and artists from all over the world. This exposure has given Blake a rare look into new filmmaking trends and styles and he has witnessed first-hand the HD DSLR movement as it has taken full force in the filmmaking community.

Bill Frakes Straw Hat Visuals

Bill Frakes is a Sports Illustrated Staff Photographer based in Florida. He has worked in more than 125 countries for a wide variety of editorial and advertising clients. His advertising clients include Nike, CocaCola, Champion, Isleworth, Stryker, IBM, Nikon, Kodak, and Reebok. Editorially his work has appeared in virtually every major general interest publication in the world. Working through his production company, Straw Hat Visuals, he directs music videos, television commercials and short documentaries. He has been on the faculty of the University of Miami, the University of Kansas and the University of Florida as an adjunct professor and lecturer. Bill won the coveted Newspaper Photographer of the Year award in the prestigious Pictures of the Year competition. He was awarded the Gold Medal by World Press Photo He was a member of the Miami Herald staff that won the Pulitzer Prize for their coverage of Hurricane Andrew . He has also been honored by the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards for reporting on the disadvantaged and by the Overseas Press club for distinguished foreign reporting. He has received hundreds of national and international awards for his work. In 2010 he was on the Jury of World Press Photo.
