Karl has a strong interest in independent artists and the communities that surround them; signing Australian punk and alternate bands as A&R at Mushroom in the late 90's. After a brief stint as part of Zomba Australia's founding team, Karl founded Level Two Music. This 20 year+ company morphed via a series of fortunate mistakes from label to Australia's leading and largest Music Supervision Agency known for its placement of interesting and unusual music in film,TV and TV Commercials in Australia and around the world. From Level Two Music, DISCO was born - a much loved B2B SaaS workflow and file storage platform and today the music industry standard. Seven years after its inception DISCO is a company of 50+ managing 100M files for the majority of the world's music supervisors as well as right holders, artists, management , A&R, Radio pluggers etc. Karl is excited by the continuing evolution occurring at the intersection of music and technology. In particular DISCO's next chapter of AI and ML functionality built to further the democratization of music discovery and support music supervisors and artists and right holders alike.
