Julyssa Lopez

Julyssa Lopez is a deputy music editor at Rolling Stone, where she runs the Latin music section and oversees other pop coverage. She’s edited cover stories on Karol G and Rosalia, and recently, she wrote the Bad Bunny cover story for the magazine’s biggest issue of the year. Previously, she was a contributor at the Nation, where she covered music and the arts, and she was a freelance writer for the New Yorker's Goings Ons About Town section. Her work has also appeared in GQ, Billboard, the Guardian, the Washington Post, Glamour, and CNN, among other publications. She wrote the 2021 cover story on Rosalia for Vogue and won a Lowell Thomas Award in 2021 for her BBC story, "New York’s Last Great Jazz Parlour.”
