Venecia Duran

Venecia Duran joined Blizzard Entertainment nearly 5 years ago, bringing extensive experience in story development, production management and writing to her current role. As the Senior Director of Creative Development within the Story & Franchise Development group, she oversees all the narrative teams that partner with the franchises to create content that extends the storytelling experience beyond gaming. This includes the renowned cinematics that Blizzard is known for, as well as published content like novels, comics and short stories that drive fan engagement.

Over the course of her career in the entertainment industry, Venecia has held multiple roles including leading the content creation efforts at global visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues, as well as working with Academy-Award winning producer Avi Arad and “Shrek” producer John H. Williams, where she helped develop a slate of independent animated feature films. Just prior to joining Blizzard, she was part of the marketing team at the NFL Network, providing creative and brand support to all the network’s broadcast partners.

Venecia holds a B.A. from UCLA and has served as a mentor for Latinx in Gaming.
