Dr. Buu Nygren

Dr. Buu Van Nygren, EdD was elected the 10th President of the Navajo Nation and the youngest to be elected at 35 years old in the Navajo Nation General Election held on November 8, 2022. Dr. Nygren assumed the Office of the President on January 10, 2023, at 12PM pursuant to the oath of office provisions of the Navajo Nation Code. Dr. Nygren is married to former Arizona State Representative Jasmine Blackwater Nygren, and together they have a young daughters. They live together in Red Mesa, Arizona.
