Shawn Kozica

Shawn Kozica is the Acting Deputy Director in the FAA’s Office of NextGen, Advanced Concepts and Technologies Directorate. Shawn is a USAF veteran with an extensive aviation background. Shawn’s previous experience includes Air Traffic Controller in the USAF and FAA; Operations Manager and Airspace and Procedures Manager at Southern California TRACON; Operations Support Group Manager at the Western Service Center; Airspace Modernization Manager, Acting Strategy Director, and Chief Strategist at FAA/ATO HQ. Shawn is deeply involved in the strategic planning and integration of emerging entrants including AAM. As an undergraduate, Shawn studied Aviation Management at Wayland Baptist University and Aeronautical Science as a graduate student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ.
