A retired 7-year ATP Tour veteran, Brian Vahaly is the only male professional tennis player ever
to come out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.   Brian was ranked as high as 64 in the
world, with wins over Michael Chang, Fernando Gonzalez, and world #1 Juan Carlos Ferrero. 
Brian reached the quarterfinals of Indian Wells and later teamed up with Andy Roddick to beat
the world #1 Bryan Twins.   
 
Brian is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he was a three-time All-American and
NCAA finalist.  He currently works with private equity companies in the health and wellness
industry, with his current position being the CEO of YouFit Gyms.  He is the First Vice President
of the USTA (US Open) where he champions DEI efforts as part of his service on the board of
directors.  Brian also serves on the board of the Washington National Cathedral in his
hometown of Washington, DC where he lives with his husband and seven-year-old twin boys.
