Jessica Weitz

Nationwide Director of Artist & Entertainment Engagement
American Civil Liberties Union

Jessica educates and activates artists and the entertainment industry to speak up for the issues the ACLU fights for - which means working across the country to fight for reproductive freedom, transgender justice, asylum seekers, voting rights, racial justice and more. She created the ACLU Artist Ambassador Project, the ACLU Blue Ribbon campaign, and leads how artists can change hearts and minds.

Jessica gets artists to do work that matters - Kerry Washington and Janelle Monae fighting for abortion rights in Michigan and Kansas, Busy Philipps & Sara Bareilles fighting for healthcare for trans kids in Texas, Tom Hanks speaking up for voting rights, Padma Lakshmi crossing the border to speak with migrants trying to give their kids a safer life, W. Kamau Bell touring the country teaching people to be anti-racists, Run The Jewels raising money to help our lawyers reunite separated families, getting celebrity moms like Mandy Moore, Rooney & Kate Mara to pressure Senator Schumer and actually pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and directing artists like Jessica Williams, Randall Park, Pamela Adlon, Tom Morello and Logan Browning reading banned books.

Before joining the ACLU, she consulted for them for over 15 years while she co-owned MCT Management, a music management company, where she managed artists including Fran Healy, Nina Persson, Dar Williams, Marshall Crenshaw, Citizen Cope and many others. Jessica began her entertainment career at storied NYC music venue The Bottom Line.
