Leah Cheshier

Leah Cheshier is a public affairs officer at NASA's Johnson Space Center, communicating the agency's work with the International Space Station, the Commercial Crew Program, and the Commercial Low Earth Orbit Program. She received her bachelor's degree in media communications in 2016 from Young Harris College in Georgia.
Leah's career at NASA began through internships, which led to her being hired full-time as the agency's internship communications coordinator, and later, becoming the social media manager for the Johnson Space Center accounts. She won a Webby award for her development and execution of the NASA Moon Tunes campaign around the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, which received worldwide attention.
Leah provides live commentary on NASA TV for launches, spacewalks, splashdowns, and more, including events like NASA's SpaceX Crew-1 and Crew-7 launches, plus the launch of the Artemis I mission to the Moon, which received 7 Telly Awards. Her leadership in the public affairs office during the Artemis I mission was recognized by the agency with a Silver Achievement Medal.
Leah is also a new host of the popular show "Houston, We Have a Podcast." She has traveled around the world in support of NASA mission operations, from a boat in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico to the deserts of Kazakhstan, but calls Houston home and enjoys the occasional late nights and early mornings she spends at the Public Affairs Officer console in Mission Control.
