Ed Cavazos

Ed Cavazos is the managing partner of the Austin office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. His practice focuses on the intersection of law and technology, with an emphasis on representing clients on transactions and disputes involving software, the internet and video games. His recent focus includes virtual worlds, Web 3.0 and AI. Ed’s an adjunct professor at the UT School of Law, where for the last 13 years, he has taught “The Law of Software, Video Games and Interactive Entertainment.” Over his 30 year practice, Ed has represented interactive entertainment clients ranging from industry leaders like Valve, Nintendo, Take-Two Interactive and Larva Labs, to numerous local independent developers including Bluepoint (acquired by Sony), Hellfire and Challenge Games (acquired by Zynga).
