Phillip Cargile works on integrating new machine learning, statistics, and AI approaches into traditional methods for astrophysical modeling of stars. His research spans from investigating and constraining the quantum processes that govern the behavior of light emitted from stars, to developing tools for the industrial-scale inference of properties of stars observed in current and future large astronomical surveys
